On a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Bay of Naples, J.K. Place Capri is like a white beacon of light calling all luxury travelers looking for a unique and perfect hotel experience on the island. The ship-like property is a sanctuary on Capri, near Marina Grande, and offers the most discerning travelers and bright, light and warm stay.
I recently experienced the hotel for three evenings, taking-in everything they have to offer. The hotel itself is like a compound, offering fantastic food, a gorgeous gym, a huge pool and gardens that look out through lemon trees to the sea. I was welcomed with an Aperol spritz, my favorite, and checked-in quickly. My sea-facing suite was on the 1st floor, which offered a balcony over the sea. It was like my own little piece of paradise on the island. The colors of the hotel, in public spaces and in guest rooms are white and blue – all which appropriately reflect the natural surroundings. Spaces are accented with gorgeous furnishings, an eclectic collection of art and books galore. There are real moments here, with the stunning sea views from nearly every room, you feel as if you’re on a cruise ship.
With only 22 rooms, J.K. Place is an intimate affair. Rooms are outfitted with cozy beds, televisions, desks, huge bathrooms and extra little amenities like a local bottle of limoncello made on the island.
The service and experience is very personalized, and you feel as if you have the entire place to yourself. You can linger over breakfast in the morning – which features delicious selections of fruit, eggs, cakes and yogurt, including the famous Caprese torte.
Or, you can lie by the pool and sip a cocktail while looking over Capri’s limestone cliffs. Whichever way you decide to spend your day here, even if it’s tucked inside the spa, there’s no mistake to make.
What stands out about J.K. Place is the beauty of the space, the commitment of the staff in making your stay notable and the magic of its physical location.
There are many luxury hotels in Capri, but none stack-up to this one because of all of these reasons. This is a place for those who notice every detail, those who appreciate the tiniest element of a hotel experience that can take your stay from good to great.
