A full-service salon and spa, Mr. Labrecque’s flagship Upper East Side location on East 65th Street is an oasis for those looking for not just a day to perfect their looks and nurture their spirit, but for those who want to see true results.
Offering the latest and best in skincare, haircare and more – this operation doesn’t settle for mediocre. This was proven to me once I realized that Paul Labrecque is an ordained partner in the United States of cult French skincare brand, Biologique Recherche. In fact, the spa uses the products exclusively and offers several facial treatments that were created by the Allouche family who founded the brand decades ago. And, these facial “treatments” are nothing ordinary. They are mind-boggling, life-changing and will send you into fits of happiness once you see the results in the mirror.
I was given a 90-minute facial by a lovely Polish aesthetician who has been working with Paul Labrecque and Biologique Recherche for years. She took one look at my skin and created a prescription of products – utilizing her hands, fingers and a patented machine that helped mold my face into a tight, bright example of perfection. The lifting effects lasted for days following the treatment. The facial is called the “Triple Lift Facial”.
After my facial, I was moved to a quiet and lovely massage room. Here, I was given a 60-minute deep-tissue massage that had me drooling in no time. I was so relaxed, I nearly fell asleep, twice, but, fought to stay awake as not to miss a minute of it. The experience was truly heavenly.
After my two treatments I was given a tour of the massive salon and spa by Mr. Labrecque’s business and life partner, Brian. Part of the salon looks out onto a private garden, lovely in Spring, and serves as an art gallery for artists who are chosen to display works in the space. This points to the detail and care taken here to assure clients are surrounded by beauty, constantly.
The truth is, New York is filled with places that focus on hair, skin and body. But, few match the commitment of Mr. Labrecque in not just creating a beautiful environment for his clients, but assembling the perfect staff, treatments and products that all come together to lift it high above the competition.
