The DuPont Circle Hotel, sitting perfectly on a central traffic circle that spins cars and pedestrians out to all corners of our nation’s capital city, is an inviting and warm place to hang your hat while visiting the Washington, D.C. area.

I recently stayed at the hotel which is centrally located, within walking distance to all of D.C.’s most visited sights. The White House, Georgetown and the Washington Memorial are all an easy walk from the front door. Upon entering, a beautiful lobby dotted with marble, art and a reception area, provides a grand yet warm welcome. As I visited during the spring season, vases with cherry blossom branches rested on many of the lobby’s surfaces.

I was checked-in promptly and shown the way to my room which was large and had a good view of DuPont Circle and the greater D.C. area. The rooms at the hotel are well-equipped, offering guests amenities like large bathrooms, flatscreen televisions, radios, music players, complimentary WiFi, house toiletries and more.  Suites, on the higher floors, have even more options with private terraces, multiple rooms, hardwood floors and access to floor 9, the club level with complimentary beverages and snacks all day long.

Just off the lobby of the hotel, are two dining options including Cafe DuPont and Bar DuPont. The bar is very busy and is considered a hot spot, perfect for snacks and cocktails, among locals. Weekends are filled with well-heeled people from the area catching-up after a long week of work. Cafe DuPont offers breakfast, brunch and dinner and caters to both locals and hotel guests. The food is well executed and inventive. You’ll find everything from brioche french toast to hamburgers on the menu.

The service at The DuPont Circle Hotel is exceptional. From the moment of check-in until I checked-out, the staff were more than willing to do whatever it took to make my stay enjoyable. They made a point of making sure I was not only comfortable, but provided me with complimentary bottles of Voss water and a fruit basket on arrival. All in all, this hotel, a member of the Ireland based Doyle Collection, is outstanding. For the price and central location to all Washington, D.C. has to offer, you simply cannot beat it.
