Oslo’s stunning opera house is open for the public to come and enjoy a ballet, opera or theatre performance by in-house or visiting performers. On a recent sunny afternoon I paid a visit to the gorgeous structure to take-in its beauty. In the early days of autumn, the weather was perfect for a pair of skinny jeans. a crisp white shirt and a blazer.
One of my favorite Scandinavian menswear labels, FRENN, had just the right pieces for the day. I wore a pair of the indigo “RUFUS” jeans with pocket detailing. The cotton “AXEL” shirt is simple, clean, yet enhanced by buttons that have color infused into them – which adds a funky twist. The “LINUS” blazer is a work of art – made from virgin wool crepe and cut very slim. I accessorized with a handmade silver ring by artists Frank and Regine Juhls , which I found in their shop, Juhls Silvergallery in Bergen (they also have one in Oslo). The ring was designed with Northern Norway’s Lapland ice and snow terrain as the inspiration.
What I love about FRENN is their attention to detail and their commitment to using the finest materials. These two men spend much of their time sourcing from old textile mills and perfecting the perfect silhouettes – and it shows in their work. FRENN is absolutely one of the best hidden gems in menswear today.
