Early one recent and chilly December morning in Brussels I ventured out of my warm hotel to do some early holiday shopping. Of course I had the option of visiting the beautiful Christmas market but I opted for the covered Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert where I could purchase everything from chocolate to handmade lace. I wanted something cozy to wear that was relaxed yet fun and interesting. Of course, who better to turn to than Antwerp-based designer Walter Van Beirendonck.
Van Beirendonck is a Belgian icon. His clothing is totally out of the box and makes a statement. I wore a pair of golden yellow trousers, a graphic white and color-blocked long sleeve cotton tee and a maroon and grey wool poncho-wrap – all from the designer. I paired the look with leather boots by Italian brand Marsell. I love the color in this look and, of course, love the geometric shapes in Les Galeries. It was a glorious morning.
