Il Santo Bevitore is one of Florence’s coolest restaurants. The raved-about establishment has earned a place as one of the city’s hot spots while maintaining a close eye on the culinary integrity. Chefs Pierluigi Campi and Claudio Salvatori know what they’re doing and take diners on a journey through Italy and beyond for an evening of epicurean enjoyment.

The mood and decor is informal and rustic, yet elegant. The wooden tables are accented with simple white napkins and glassware – a modern palette for the food about to enter the picture. I chose from the seasonal menu and made selections based on my hope to get the full restaurant experience. I experienced homemade cheeses, breads, prawns, pasta with cuttlefish and a gelato with berries and herbs.

The service was good and speedy – which matched the ambiance of the restaurant. My food was paired perfectly with Italian wines, a nice touch. For an authentic Florentine experience and cuisine that will spark you to think differently about the art of cooking, Il Santo Bevitore is an excellent choice.
