La Maison du Cacao is a small operation dedicated to chocolate – located just a few minutes from the seaside town of Pointe Noire.
The operation offers visitors the chance to see how chocolate is conceived – from the seed, to the tree to the pod to the bar.
The employees here will actually take you through the experience – including allowing you to see the raw cacao pulp.
The fermentation.
The roasting.
The grinding raw chocolate into a paste.
A rich, beautiful paste.
That will eventually be heated with water and vanilla into the most delectable hot chocolate you’ll ever taste. Don’t forget to visit the boutique to purchase incredible bars and other items to take home as gifts.
