La Toubana Hotel and Spa is Guadeloupe’s premier luxury hotel. Perched on an idyllic cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea – this little hotel stretches over the hill tops and cascades down to the ocean, through winding paths overgrown with beautiful greenery and colorful flowers.
Situated just two minutes from the small village of Saint-Anne, roughly 30 minutes from the island’s capital of Point-à-Pitre, staying here keeps you far enough away from the busyness to indulge in the peace and serenity this island paradise has to offer. The hotel boasts 21 sea view bungalows, 12 junior suites, 12 panoramic suites and three luxury villas. Each room or bungalow is large, spacious and offers everything from a full kitchen, patio, living room, open bathroom and some even have two stories of space – all your own. The layout of the hotel is almost like a small condominium community – so it feels very private and secluded.
The main lobby of the hotel is at the center of the property and where you’ll find a beautiful pool, attentive staff, boutique, spa and dining room. It’s here where you’ll have breakfast with views of the stunning sea below. I stayed at La Toubana for four evenings, and spent most of my days meandering down the paths to the private beach – where lounge chairs and a snack bar waited my arrival. The beach is small but beautiful, and features a quiet swimming cove that is shallow and calm.
As Guadeloupe is a large island, it’s best to rent a vehicle so you can explore the two sides of the island – Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre.
The hotel offers parking for your car and it’s easy to buzz in and out through the gates on your way to whatever adventure you might have planned.
La Toubana maintains a low key attitude, which helps keep you relaxed and with a feeling like you’re home.
For any visitor looking for a beautiful and charming property on the island of Guadeloupe – La Toubana is it. There are other hotel options here, but none that offer the complete “package” that you can find here.
