Have you ever brunched in what seems like an urban tree house, perched elegantly on the side of a hill overlooking Los Angeles? Well, I have. But, there’s not too many places where this is possible in the City of Angels. Now add-in the perfect combination of well-sourced ingredients, artful execution of a menu, good service and an elegant, unique environment – it’s like finding the holy grail. But at The Eveleigh restaurant in West Hollywood, it all seems so easy.

Just off Sunset Boulevard, you enter a secret garden-like space brimming with vines, trees, flowers and moss that sets the tone for what you’re about to experience as a diner. The open-air vibe allows for a relaxed environment and one where guests can thoroughly enjoy their meal while feeling as close to nature as possible in the middle of L.A. The Eveleigh’s menu, lead by Executive Chef Jared Levy, is known for its use of fresh, farmer’s market finds to appease its patron’s appetites. This is important as breakfast food, even at some of the city’s best restaurants, can hover around mediocre.

On the brunch menu you’ll find dishes like: hot cakes with poached organic pears, whipped honeycomb butter and bay leaf maple syrup, baked eggs with Kentucky ham, maitake mushrooms, goat cheese and greens as well as a burger constructed of dry-aged prime beef, fontina cheese, tomato-chorizo relish, pickles and mustard aioli. It’s heaven. There’s a fantastic assortment of breakfast and lunch options blended into the brunch menu here – they really have not missed a beat.

The service is wonderful – with a courteous wait staff made-up of attractive, young people who are eager to make your experience the best it can be. During the summer months when daytime temperatures can reach upwards of 100 degrees, The Eveleigh has cleverly installed misters around the perimeter of the outdoor seating area to gently cool guests as they dine on their Napa Valley sourced breakfast sausage. Can you get better than that? Overall, having a meal at this West Hollywood gem is a well-rounded good time. It’s romantic and even a good choice for an after work cocktail. Don’t miss the experience at The Eveleigh, you and your stomach won’t regret it.
