Peruvian mens costume - 1

Peru’s Quechua people live in the Central Andes mountain range. They have been there for centuries and have many traditions which have influenced modern day Peru – including Lima. In and out of shops in the Peruvian capital you’ll find beautiful sweaters knitted by hand. These sweaters are often made from the wool of the Alpaca and feature bright colors. The traditional costumes of the Quechua are enough to inspire not only a “look” but an entire wardrobe of patterns, textile varieties and, of course, a color story. Here is a photo of a Quechua man and what you might see in his sartorial choices. This photo was captured by Peruvian fashion photographer, Mario Testino.
