[new_royalslider id="1660"]Recently, at Stockholm Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015, I attended the J. Lindeberg show. The Swedish label, founded by Johan Lindeberg in 1996, is an important and influential brand which represents Swedish design throughout the world and has done so for almost 20 years. The show, entitled “Biotopia”, was an effort to make us aware of the wilderness and natural life that surrounds us in our urban world.
The show started with pounding music mixed by Marcus Ullmarker. Lights brightened and models began walking down the runway in one of the stunning ballrooms of the Berns Hotel. The collection, inspired by 60’s rock and roll and Lalle Johnson, offered everything from animal prints, leather jackets and layer upon layer of breezy fabrics constructed into pants, blazers and tees. The collection seemed to be a close cousin to those in recent history of Paris-based Saint Laurent. Jessy Heuvelink, the label’s designer, shows incredible commitment and huge promise in helping J. Lindeberg ascend into an even more prominent brand. Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show.
