My Threads: Patrick Ngowi

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is hot and humid. There are a variety of smells and colors that mix with the ocean breeze to make up the texture unique to this city. For my interview with Patrick Ngowi at The Oyster Bay Hotel, I wore a local designer who is known for his pattern-making and colorful shirts. Salim Ali and his company, Mtoko Designs, have been represented at various fashion weeks in Africa as well as garnered attention from local celebrities. His shirts fit like a glove, not too boxy and are made to show off the body. My shirt was paired with Prada pants.
