If there’s one thing any traveler can count on while visiting Bergen, Norway, it;s the charming and colorful streets which meander up the surrounding hills and mountains. Bergen’s streets are narrow, filled with shops, galleries, hotels and cultural attractions – but climbing higher than the main pedestrian areas will leave you even more enthralled than you could ever imagine. As you wind your way up, from nearly any main street downtown, you will notice the cobblestones leading you past small homes and cottages in residential areas. These cottages, many of them white, make their mark with colorful doors, flower displays, painted windows and other decorative facets. Each one is a photo opportunity and will make you want to run out and immediately buy one.
