Spilling down the mountains surrounding Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is the world’s largest urban park, Tijuca Forest. Tijuca is a rainforest which stretches for 12 square miles. It’s protected by the government and offers visitors to this incredible city an escape, just around the corner. You’ll find everything here from hiking trails, waterfalls, exotic plants and cute little monkeys hanging from the trees. Tijuca is located just above the famous Botanical Gardens – making visiting both places in a day, very doable. Tijuca shouldn’t be missed.
