Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is one of the most interesting characters I have ever met. Born to one of the most respected royal families in India and coming from an esteemed lineage began centuries before him, his life seemed destined to carry on the family’s heritage and be the public “face” of his kingdom, Rajpipla.
But, Manvendra took another route. Coming out as the first openly gay royal in India and possibly the world, he separated himself from tradition to create a new path as an AIDS activist and LGBTQ champion for the voiceless in his country.
