Tenerife happens to be one of the best stargazing spots on the planet. The clear skies offer visitors a moment to ascend the island’s hills and witness nature’s largest light show. Various tour operators and boutique “experience” operations offer guided tours through Teide National Park or other areas with a powerful telescope to see the stars and planets up close and personal.
Depending on the time of year, you can witness the rings around Saturn, the moons circling Jupiter or the big dipper claiming its spot in the night sky. The stars seem so close, you feel like you can almost touch them. This is an experience that is unique to the island and makes you wonder what else is out there in our solar system and those that lie beyond.
