Throughout the central Fes medina and around the city you will notice a plethora of feline friends roaming the streets and alleyways. They sit patiently waiting for a bite of fish to drop from a seafood stall, they nap on egg cartons underneath the shade and they rub against you in an effort to get a little attention. The cats of Fes are adorable and live on the streets. The residents respect them and generally feed and water the little creatures which makes them happy. As a visitor you will see cats of all colors coexisting here – they are an integral part of the fabric that makes up the city and have become an iconic symbol of the streets. It’s a beautiful sight to witness.
