The adorable city of Tallinn has a great deal to offer in terms of luxury accommodations, but one that stands out above the rest is the incredibly luxurious Schlössle Hotel. Located on the quiet but central Pühavaimu Street in Tallinn’s old town, the Schlössle Hotel calls to those who appreciate history, luxury and convenience during their stay. A perfect mix of old and new, this hotel has paid very close attention to the details – leaving no stone unturned for their guests.
Upon arriving, the boutique hotel opens its doors to a small and intimate lobby area where smart desks sit within a well appointed room decorated with oil paintings and antique furniture. The feeling of being in a medieval castle consumes you, due to stones in the walls that date back to 1363 – laid when Tallinn was an important trading site along the Baltic Sea. The entire building, in fact, was built in a baroque-gothic style and has seen many renovations and owners over the years. But, the original details peek through, adding to the incredible charm here.
Once checked-in guests are led through a stone and wooden room with a roaring fire, M.C. Grill, which is the delicious international restaurant offered by the hotel. Up an elevator and you’ve reached the beautifully-lit corridors, which lead you to the 23 rooms and suites. Rooms at the Schlössle Hotel are well appointed and cozy. Large, comfortable beds with plush linens await you. Televisions with international cable, iPads which allow for touch screen room service ordering, marble bathrooms with Gilchrist and Soames bathroom products, writing desks and views of the old town make the experience effortless and comfortable.
Service at the Schlössle Hotel is outstanding. From the moment of arrival, the staff gets to know you by name and refers to you by name throughout your stay. Whether in the dining room, lobby or cigar lounge – the friendliness makes an impact. The Schlössle Hotel feels like a home away from home, intimate and cozy. This is not an easy feeling to find while traveling. Curling-up here near an open fire and a glass of Vana Tallinn liqueur with a good book is just perfect. But don’t take my word for it.
